I was sitting here thinking about my encounters with few people and the reason why I am so annoyed with them. It comes down to one word... "LOL" I can't tell you how some people kept saying LOL after they make a comment even if I don't find the comment funny. I mean, LOL started out as the abbreviation for laughing out loud for texting because the mobile companies back in the day would either charge per character or per text. That abbrevation and may others has became insanely popular that people started to say or sign those abbrevations...
All I am begging from the people... DON'T EVER SAY LOL IN MY FACE! I don't care if you send me a text with LOL in the message...

LOL!
Ok back to being serious, only thing that annoys me is people saying "LOL" in person, in video or anything that doesn't involve IM, email or even texting.
I'm like.. HOW can you spell "LOL" in person?! It should stay within online only. *rolls*
Whatever happens to "ha ha" ?

I love you for posting this blog. I find it SO annoying when deaf people say "LOL" without "(L)aughing (O)out (L)oud". It's like, HELLO?! Look at what I just said... It doesn't mean that you can say it without laughing for real. I even mentioned it briefly in one of my "I was bored" v-logs.
I'm so glad that you brought this up. It brightens my night... Day... Noon... PM... AM... Whatever.

Lol !! It is now in general usage and so a perfectly acceptable 'colloquialism'. Colloquialsims are accepted if in mass use, and lol seems to be. Brits got called 'Limey's' by Americans, we weren't too pleased about that at the time ! but it was an accepted term in America. These things come and go, not worth getting annoyed about it... America does a new buzz word every week, I can give a very lengthy list of 'Americanisms' I would prefer not to see :) and a few spelling lessons too, what is it with Americans unable to use vowels like 'u' ? WE invented English, not you...lol (Here, lol is used to limit annoyance, not to describe a function of physical laughter)...
